Temporary registration is issued for a limited period. Applicants must fill out Form 20 of the Central Motor Vehicle Act. They can also apply for an extension of temporary registration, specifying the period up to which extension is required.  

Applicants must complete the permanent registration application process within seven days from the date of delivery of the vehicle. Form 20 has to be filled for this process. 

Ownership Transfer in Panvel RTO

Under Panvel RTO, policyholders can apply for ownership transfer under three scenarios. In the case of standard transfer, a transfer and change in ownership must be reported to Panvel RTO. In case of the policy holder's death, the successor can use the vehicle for three months. However, the successor has to get a vehicle assigned to their name after three months. 

If the vehicle is bought at a government-organized public auction, the owner must register the car under their name within 30 days of possessing it. 

Renewal Of Registration in Panvel RTO

To renew the registration certificate at Panvel RTO, the applicant should fill out Form 25. It is essential to make an application 60 days before the date of expiry. Applicant should have the following documents for renewal:

  • Duly Filled Form 25
  • Original Registration Certificate
  • Pollution Under Control Certificate
  • Insurance Document of the Vehicle

Duplicate RC in Panvel RTO

For issuance of a duplicate certificate of Registration at Panvel RTO, the applicants should fill out Form 26. The fees shall be paid to the registration authority at Panvel RTO under rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rule, 1989. In addition, applicants should fulfil the following requirements:

  • Police Certificate
  • Pollution Under Control Certificate
  • NOC from financier in case the vehicle is bought on loan
  • Vehicle insurance document
