A subsidiary company of Nissan, Datsun, has impacted the ‘compact’ car segment ever since its arrival. The USP for the automaker has been simple, offering compact, robust and feature-laden cars at affordable prices. Yes, that is how the automaker left behind a mark with the Indian audience!

Established in 1931 in Japan, the brand made its way to the Indian sub-continent in 2013. The Datsun Go (the debutant hatchback) was the first-ever product launched by Nissan’s CEO Carlos Ghosn himself.

Popular Datsun Car Models

Datsun Redi-Go

One of Datsun Go’s spin-offs, the Redi-Go is an upgraded variant of the car that picks up on a fresh set of cosmetic updates besides a plethora of features. Available in both manual and AMT options, the Datsun Redi-Go advances with sharp looks and a cosy theme.

The Redi-Go facelift is powered by two petrol options, 0.8L and 1.0L, churning out 54hp and 72Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the latter 1.0L engine produces 67hp besides giving out 91Nm of peak torque.

Datsun Go

The introductory hatch offered way back in 2013, has upgraded itself over the years. The Datsun Go’s current model year is all about simplicity, exclusive styling, and modernity in its approach.

The latest GO hatchback update makes it available over five trim levels, making it a major USP behind the new car. Further, the redesigned bumper and the vertical LED DRL strips keep up with a subtle fresh look.  However, the powertrain remains the same with a 1.2L petrol motor that puts up an impressive 67hp and 104Nm of peak torque.

Datsun Go+

The other one of the famous duo, the Datsun Go+ (Datsun Go Plus) is ideally the most potent offering by the automaker in India (in terms of the features that it puts online). The automaker has done a great job introducing a refined style with LEDs’ presence to make the offering bolder.

Its impressive features bring a centre console on offer. The car now picks up on a seven-inch Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Further, the dashboard is also revised with new and better features as standard. Powering the Go+ is a similar 1.2L petrol motor that powers the Go, putting up an impressive 67hp and 104Nm of peak torque.
