NCB for two-wheelers gets reduced after one claim thus for not making a claim of up to 5 consecutive years, your accumulated NCBs are up to 50%, hence you can get great discounts in your next policy premium.
Bike insurance should be claimed or registered immediately after the accident or incident. For Theft/Accidental Claims, intimation to both insurance companies and police should be given within 24 Hours.
If it is delayed beyond 48 hours, a written clarification should be given to the insurance company. However, the company is not liable for any damage that has occurred due to delay in registration or failure to produce the vehicle during survey.
The following are the documents and details that are needed during insurance claim registration - policy number, vehicle registration and engine number, caller details i.e. relation to insured, date, time and place of incident, loss type i.e. own damage, TP, theft, PA claim or any injury has been sustained in accident, if incident is reported to police, GD or FIR number, driver name and claim number.
First, you have to file an FIR with your nearest police station. You have to submit a photocopy of the same, some documents, bike keys, and a non-traceable certificate to your insurance company. You can claim the full IDV amount in case your bike is stolen.
