Add-on covers are the additional benefits you get along with your base comprehensive or standalone vehicle insurance policy. Each add-on cover amounts to a certain increase in your insurance premiums, but the benefits you get in return are invaluable. These add-on covers provide additional security, and you can choose the ones you wish to incorporate into your bike insurance policy

HDFC ERGO Two Wheeler Insurance Add-on Covers

HDFC ERGO comprehensive bike insurance policy and HDFC ERGO standalone bike insurance policy allow policyholders to choose from the multiple add-on covers. This benefit is not extended to the customers who have purchased the HDFC ERGO third-party insurance. You can add the cover as per suitability and customize the policy as per your needs.

Important Add-on Covers from HDFC ERGO for Your Bike Insurance Policy

  • Zero Depreciation Cover:

At the time of filing the claim, the policyholder does not get the whole amount that has been claimed. All the insurers while settling the insurance claim minus the deductible charges from the claim amount and then settle it. These deductibles are estimated with the cost of the depreciation of the vehicle. With the zero depreciation add-on the cover, your insurer pays the whole claimed amount while settling the insurance, including the deductibles. The zero depreciation add-on cover of HDFC ERGO bike insurance is valid for the one year after the policy purchase.

  • No Claim Bonus Protection:

No claim bonus awards you a discount at the time of policy renewal for being a good driver and not making a single claim. This bonus can significantly reduce your premiums without affecting your claim amount. It will not matter that you have claimed insurance throughout the tenure, and towards the end, if you make a claim, however small it could be, you can still lose all the benefits that you otherwise would have gotten from the NCB. But with this add-on cover, you can even raise small claims without jeopardizing your NCB status. Under this cover, the maximum NCB discount that you can get at the time of policy renewal is up to 50% of your accumulated NCBs.

  • Emergency Assistance Covers:

Many small problems can cost you a lot. These problems can arise at any time and create an issue for you. To get around it, HDFC ERGO offers 24*7 roadside assistance to customers. To seek assistance, all you have to do is call the toll-free number and inform them of your problems. HDFC ERGO will send assistance immediately. These issues can range from a flat tyre, battery jump-start, vehicle towing, fuel refills, minor repairs on-site, duplicate key, or lost key assistance. This cover facilitates only for a year of the policy purchase, and the incident must have taken place within a 100 kilometer radius of your registered address.

  • Return-to Invoice:

If your vehicle gets damaged beyond repairs or stolen, you can use this HDFC ERGO two-wheeler insurance policy add-on cover. It will provide you with the full invoice of the vehicle that you have paid at the time of vehicle purchase. In the case of repairing the vehicle, it provides you with all the constructive charges.

  • Engine Protection Cover:

It is common for two-wheelers to suffer damages if water enters the engine, leakage of lubricating oils, etc. The damages incurred by two-wheelers as a result of a wet engine often end up in long repair bills. In such a scenario, this add-on cover provides financial protection to the policyholder. You can claim for the engine repair costs and you won’t have to worry about bearing the expenses. This type of add-on is ideal for those who live in an area prone to water-logging, heavy rain, etc.
