New India - 6 Important Add-on Covers For Your Bike Insurance

These six automobile insurance add-ons can be benefited from New India Assurance comprehensive and standalone auto insurance policies. You can either get New India Assurance bike insurance add ons offline from their offices or you can get it online:-

1. Zero Depreciation Cover

This insurance cover insures you against the depreciation which is applicable on your bike and its parts, such as plastic and metal parts, at 100% except for the tyres, tubes, and batteries, which are covered at 50% only. This cover helps you receive additional coverage over your existing insurance by freeing you from the liability of bearing the deprecation cost.

2. Engine Protection Cover

Under a standard auto insurance policy, the machine and gearbox of your two-wheeler aren't ensured by default. But this add-on helps your engine and its internal parts, along with the gearbox, to be insured against damages caused by water or oil leakage in them. This type of add-on is available for your insured vehicle only if it is below 5 years of age.

3. No Claim Bonus Protection Cover

No claim perk refers to the amount of money you get if you do not make not even one insurance claim during your auto insurance policy. This reward can be accumulated and can go up to 20% to 50% of your insurance premiums and is available to you at the end of your insurance period or time of renewal.

If any accident happens and you make an insurance claim in the insurance period, this reward will be lost. This is where the no claim bonus protection cover comes into play. It helps you cover your NCB reward if you make any insurance claim during the policy period.

4. Road Tax Cover

In cases of theft of your vehicle as well as vehicle damage beyond repair (when the damage is further than 70%). This type of add-on helps you get back the road tax charges on the substitute of your vehicle. This insurance cover is for those vehicles/two-wheelers which are below 5 years of age.

5. Return to Bill Cover

This cover helps you get the actual billing price of your vehicle as compensation rather than the insured declared value (IDV)as in the insurance documents in case of theft or damage beyond your bike repair. The billing price refers to the amount of money you paid when purchasing your bike from the dealership. The billing price includes the ex-showroom price of the vehicle, registration charges, and road tax of your motorbike/vehicle.

6. Personal Property Cover

This add-on ensures you against the damage that can happen to the individual things or accessories that are kept in the vehicle at the time of theft or any misfortuned incident on your insured vehicle. The liability coverage under this add-on policy is limited to INR 20,000 but with an additional 20% of the sum insured, i.e., INR. 4,000 for each item or the actual price, The lesser among them will be chosen.
