  1. Third-party liability only insurance plan-
    Third-party liability only insurance plan provides cover against the damages and liabilities arising to the third party or third-party property due to an accident caused by your bike. Third-party liability insurance is mandatory under the Motor Vehicles Act. You cannot play your vehicle on the road without a third-party liability insurance policy. 

There are two types of third-party liability policies offered by Go Digit General Insurance Company. They are as follows: 

  • Single year third-party liability-only policy-
    It covers third-party liability for one year and can be renewed annually. 
  • Long term third-party liability-only policy-

  1. Comprehensive Insurance policy-

Note: 
Through its latest guidelines IDRAI has made it compulsory to buy a minimum of 5 years of third-party liability insurance policy at the time of buying a new two-wheeler. You can buy a one-year own damages plan along with 5-year third-party liability under the bundled plan or 5-year third party cover and annual own damage cover.

What is covered under Go Digit Two-wheeler Insurance Plans?

Let us look at what is covered under Go Digit two-wheeler insurance policies- 

  1. Third-party losses- 
    When a third party is injured or a third-party vehicle or property is damaged due to an accident caused by your vehicle, all the liabilities suffered would be covered under Go Digit two-wheeler insurance plans. 
  2. Natural disasters- 
    Damages caused to your vehicle due to any natural disasters such as cyclones, floods, earthquakes, etc are covered. 
  3. Fire- 
    Damages and losses caused to your two-wheeler in case of accidental fire would be covered under the two-wheeler insurance plan. 
  4. Theft- 
    Comprehensive two-wheeler insurance policy covers losses in case your vehicle is unfortunately stolen. The company will pay you for the losses so that you can use the money to replace the old bike with a new one. 
  5. Damages due to accident-

What is not covered under the Go Digit Two-wheeler Insurance Plans? 

It is equally important to know which situations are not covered in your two-wheeler insurance policy so that there would be no surprises when you make an insurance claim. The situations that are not covered in Go Digit two-wheeler insurance policy are as follows-

  1. Electrical or mechanical breakdown
    Mechanical and electrical breakdown are not covered under Go Digit two-wheeler insurance policies. 
  2. Consequential damages- 
    Any damage which is not a direct result of an accident or any damage caused due to incorrect use of the vehicle is known as consequential damages. Consequential damages are not covered in two-wheeler insurance policies. 
  3. Driving without a valid driving licence- 
    If you are driving the vehicle without a valid driving licence and any damages occurs then your claim would not be covered. 
  4. Damages due to man-made disasters- 
    Damages arising due to man-made disasters such as strike, riots, war, etc. would not be covered as it is a permanent exclusion. 
  5. Damages outside India- 
    Liabilities arising to be third-party or any damages and losses suffered by your vehicle would not be covered if an accident happened outside the geographical limits of India. 
  6. Servicing
    Every vehicle requires regular servicing to run smoothly. The cost of servicing has to be borne by the owner of the two-wheeler as the insurance company will not offer compensation for natural wear and tear. 
  7. Drunk driving
    Your Go Digit two-wheeler insurance won't be covered for you in situations where you were riding your vehicle drunk or under the influence of drugs. 
  8. Contributory negligence- 
    Any contributory negligence such as damage due to driving the vehicle in a flood which is not recommended as per manufacture driving manual, would not be covered.

When the expiry date of your two-wheeler insurance policy is near, you should renew the plan immediately. However, if you forget to pay the premium on time, your two-wheeler insurance policy would lapse. The insurance company offers a grace period after the expiry of the due date for paying the premium to renew your expired two-wheeler insurance policy. You can pay the premiums within the grace period and your policy will be reinstated. If the grace period has expired, you will have to call the insurance provider for renewal.
