Ford EcoSport Car Insurance FAQs

  • 1. What exactly is Car Insurance, and why is it needed?

In case there is any financial loss to the driver or car due to an accident, natural calamity or theft, then car insurance will cover that financial loss. It’s required by law in India. Any vehicle running on the road should have at least 3rd party insurance.

  • 2. I don’t wish to cover myself or my car via insurance, but only want protection for others, in case of an accident. Which insurance will be good for me?

In that case, 3rd party insurance will work. 3rd party insurance covers the 3rd party damages and liability only in case of an accident.

  • 3. Which is better: 3rd party or Comprehensive car insurance?

Both are equally important and necessary for the car owner. We will suggest opting for comprehensive car insurance since it provides insurance to both 1st party and 3rd party.

  • 4. How to manage the depreciation which will reduce my insurance cover?

Most of the insurance providers offer Zero-Dep insurance add-on, which can be bought along with the main motor insurance. In Zero-Dep insurance, the depreciation of your car won’t be considered, while finalizing the claims.

  • 5. I wish to insure every part of the car: From engine to screws and bolts. Is it possible?

Yes, it is. Under various insurance add-ons, there are separate packages for engines, and a separate cover for Consumables such as bolts, screws, engine oil, AC, ball-bearings and more. These two insurance add-ons can help you.

  • 6. So, I have paid my car insurance for 10 years, and never claimed any insurance money. Can I now claim insurance since my car is old?

Nope. General wear and tear of the car due to aging is not covered in the insurance. However, since you haven’t claimed any insurance money, you will definitely get a No Claim Bonus, which can reduce the next premium by upto 50%.
