On July 23, 1903, when Dr. Pfennig from Chicago bought the 1st ever Ford car called “Model A” with a 2-cylinder engine, he didn’t know that he was creating history.

Headquartered in Michigan, US, Ford is the world’s 5th biggest and America’s 2nd biggest automobile company, with a glorious history of 117 years. Legendary entrepreneur and business magnate Henry Ford founded this car company, which is right now the world’s 2nd largest family-owned company.

Over the years, Ford has launched and sold several best-selling car brands and models, which include disruptive innovations such as Crossover SUV, Hybrid SUV, Pickup trucks, family cars, and more.

Powered with a 1.5L Ti-VCT petrol engine along with a 1.5L TDCi diesel engine, Ford EcoSport was among the first ‘compact’ SUVs to have launched in India and quickly became a best-seller due to its stylish looks, and rugged exteriors. The introduction of features such as cruise control, auto headlamps, automatic transmission in a compact SUV were some of Ford’s innovations, which clicked with the Indian buyers.

Ford Figo

Codenamed as B562, Ford Figo was launched in India in 2010, and quickly became one of the best selling compact hatchbacks. The design of Ford Figo was based on the immensely popular Mark V European Ford Fiesta, and was available in both petrol and diesel variants, with a 5-speed transmission and power steering as a standard feature. Figo was also sold in Mexico, the Middle East, and South Africa.

Ford Endeavour

If there is any large SUV that can challenge the legacy of the Toyota Fortuner, then it’s Ford Endeavour. Having a muscular appeal, and high-speed stability, Ford Endeavour is a global bestseller from Ford and considered as one of the best off-road vehicles ever launched. Powered with two variants: 2.2L TDCi and 3.2L TDCi diesel engines, Ford Endeavour gives a maximum speed of 167.62bhp@3500rpm.

The Ford Freestyle

Based on the design of Ford Figo, Ford Freestyle is yet another best selling car from the Ford camp, which was marketed as a crossover utility vehicle with lots of flexibility, and a fun driving experience. Targeted mainly for families, Ford Freestyle was launched in India as a budget-friendly hatchback priced under INR 6 lakh for the base variant (Ex-showroom in New Delhi).
