Ford Figo Review

With a top-notch, innovative engine from Ford, Figo is a joy to ride, and gives an enthralling experience, especially on the highways. Being a subcompact hatchback, Ford Figo is easy to drive within the urban limits as well and is fast, economical, and dependable. One of the key USPs of Figo is the minimal turbo lag, which gives a smooth riding experience, and the extra push that the car gets when the turbo kicks in, giving an alderine rush to the driver.

The surprising omission is the automatic transmission in Figo’s latest avatar, which is shocking indeed. At a time when most of the hatchbacks from Hyundai, Maruti, and Tata are equipped with automatic transmission, Figo too should have one for India.

Ford Figo Car Insurance FAQs

  • 1. Ok, so I don’t believe in the philosophy of car insurance. What will happen if traffic cops check me?

Car insurance is not a philosophy, but a mandatory requirement as per the Motor Vehicles Act. If you are driving a car without insurance, then traffic cops can impose a fine of INR 2,000 for the 1st instance, and then INR 4,000 every time after that.

  • 2. What is the minimum insurance I can have for my car? The one with minimum expenses?

As per Motor Vehicles Act, 3rd party insurance is the minimum insurance that every 4-wheeler or 2-wheeler should definitely have. But we always recommend having Comprehensive Insurance for more protection.

  • 3. What will happen if I only have 3rd party insurance during an accident with another vehicle?

If you only have 3rd party insurance, then in the case of an accident, your insurance policy will cover all damages incurred to the 3rd party (the other car), but will not cover any damage to your car or the driver/passengers in your car.

  • 4. Can I insure the engine of my new Ford Figo car with an insurance policy?

Yes, you can. Within the main car insurance policy (Comprehensive Insurance), there are several add-ons that you can opt for, which also include an engine protection plan. You will need to pay an extra premium for that.

  • 5. The value of the new car becomes less, as soon as it comes out of the showroom. Does this mean the sum insured for my car will also get less with time?

Very true indeed. This is called Depreciation, and not only cars but every asset has to go through a depreciation, based on the market conditions. But there is a way to avoid this depreciation effect on your car, with Zero Dep Insurance.

  • 6. What exactly is Zero Dep insurance?

Zero Dep is a type of insurance policy, wherein the depreciated value of the car won’t be considered while settling the claims. With this, you will receive the full sum insured, irrespective of the depreciation factor. There is a slightly increased premium for the same and is highly recommended for brand new cars.
