Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, Hyundai is one of the biggest, most popular automobile companies in the world. Having a glorious history of 57 years, Hyundai cars are known for power-packed features, at an affordable price, and this is the reason their cars are such a huge hit in India.

In the last few years, Hyundai car models in India have given a tough fight to the likes of Maruti and Tata, to be comfortably placed within the list of top 3 car brands in terms of overall sales, both in hatchback and SUVs.

In 1998, Hyundai’s iconic car Santro was the 1st to debut in India, and it became a runaway hit in the hatchback genre, and their popularity only soared henceforth.

The latest BS6 petrol variant has an impressive 1086CC engine, available in manual transmission.

The latest Grand i10 version is BS-VI compliant, having 1197 CC engine, 81.86 Bhp power and high mileage of 18.9 kmph.

First launched in 2014 at Beijing Motor Show, Hyundai Creta was marketed for the adventurous driver, who wished to experience the power of an SUV, without having to spend a fortune to buy one. Hyundai incorporated the latest Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 to design this car, which is right now priced under INR 10 lakh for the base variant (Ex-showroom, New Delhi)

Hyundai Venue

Hyundai Cars Review

In 1998, when Hyundai entered India for the 1st time, Maruti was the de-facto leader in the hatchback niche, with Tata, Mahindra, and Hindustan Motors at the leading positions. But the arrival of Santro and Hyundai’s other car models such as i10, Sonata, Getz, Verna and others changed the market. Hyundai cars are designed for urban mobility, with great emphasis on the technology division and driving experience. With a huge network of service centers, only paralleled by Maruti in India, Hyundai cars are a great value for money, with a stellar reputation.

Hyundai Car Insurance FAQs

  • 1. I am about to buy a 2nd hand (used) Hyundai i10 for my son. Should I take insurance?

Definitely. Without insurance, driving any vehicle in India is a punishable offense, as per the Motor Vehicles Act.

  • 2. I don’t want to spend much money on insurance for my used car. What are the options available?

As per the Govt of India laws, any vehicle (4-wheeler or 2-wheeler) should have atleast 3rd party insurance, which is also known as Liability-only insurance.

  • 3. I am buying a used Hyundai car. Should I transfer the insurance from the previous owner, or buy new insurance?

While buying an old car, it’s always recommended to transfer the insurance policy from the old owner to your own name. However, some insurance providers don’t transfer the policy before the existing insurance policy ends. You can send a special request for the transfer in the middle of the policy tenure, and get it done.

  • 4. Are natural disasters such as flood, earthquake covered under car insurance for Hyundai cars?

Yes. Natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, hailstorms etc are covered under Hyundai car insurance. But to avail the same, you must have comprehensive car insurance and not just 3rd party car insurance.

  • 5. Which additional insurance add-ons I can choose, along with my comprehensive car insurance for Hyundai Creta?

There are several add-ons packages in insurance, which you can select for your new Hyundai Creta (or any car, as a matter of fact). Some of the most popular ones are Zero- Depreciation insurance (wherein depreciation as a factor won’t be considered, and you can claim 100% insurance amount), Engine Protector, NCB Protection, Roadside Assistance insurance, Engine & Gearbox Protection, Tyre Protection, etc.
