Shriram General Third-Party Car Insurance (3 Years)

For every car, it is mandatory to have a third-party liability cover. The liabilities you face when your car causes damage or injury would be taken care of,  your own-damages will not be covered. The cover includes:

  • Third-Party Property Damage- The cover will take care of the damages that are caused to third-party assets and properties.
  • Third-Party Injury- The cover will pay for the hospitalisation expenses, loss of job etc. when your two-vehicle causes physical injury to a third-person. 
    As per the recent guidelines of the IRDAI, all new private cars that are bought after 1st September 2018, will have to buy insurance for 3 years.

Standalone Own-Damage Cover

Under the guidelines of the IRDA, you can now cover your car for third-party liabilities for 3 years and own-damages for 1 year. As mentioned above, third-party liabilities will cover the loss and damage of the third-party, and own-damage will cover the following:

B. Shriram General Two-Wheeler Insurance Plans

In India, it is mandatory for every motorised vehicle that moves on the road to have a basic insurance cover, under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Shriram General Third-Party Two-Wheeler Insurance (5 Years)

Third-party liability refers to the liabilities that you face when your two-wheeler/bike causes damage or injury to third-party property or person. If your motor insurance has expired and your vehicle meets with an accident, you would not be able to make any claim. Being without insurance will also land you in legal trouble.   • Cashless Claims
    If you wish to get a cashless claim, you have to go to a network garage. After intimating your claim, your vehicle would be inspected by a surveyor. After his approval/confirmation, your vehicle will undergo repair. You would be required to submit the claim form, which can be obtained from the surveyor or can be downloaded from the company website. The company would then settle the claims with the garage directly. You would have to pay for the uncovered expenses on your own.
  • Reimbursement Claim
    However, if you get the vehicle repaired at a non-network garage, after the inspection, you can get the vehicle repaired. You would have to clear the bills out of your pocket. Thereafter, you can get in touch with the company and submit the bills, claim form and other required documents. Once all the paperwork is completed, the company will verify it. Post verification and approval, your claim will be processed and the reimbursement amount will be sent to your bank account.
