- In-Patient Benefits
In case you need to be hospitalised for more than 24 hours because of an illness or an injury, your Lifeline Supreme plan would cover the expenses. The policy covers the doctor’s fee, room, ICU charges, nursing charges etc. - Ambulance Charges
Ambulance charges up to INR 5,000 would be reimbursed, when the service is used for transporting the insured member to the hospital in an emergency. - Re-load of Sum Insured
Once during a policy year, the company will provide you with a complete reload of the sum insured. - No Claim Bonus
When you do not make a claim in a policy year, you will be rewarded with an NCB. This bonus would increase your sum insured by 20% per policy year. This bonus can go up to 100% in the Lifeline Supreme plan. - Pre and Post-Hospitalisation
Medical expenses do not begin or end with hospitalisation. Under this plan, the expenses related to the related injury or the illness will be covered for a period of 60 days before and 90 days after the hospitalisation. - Day-Care Procedures
Certain treatments require a period of specific observation or care after completion of the procedure, which may take less than 24 hours of hospitalisation. Such procedures called daycare procedures would be covered up to the sum insured under the Supreme variant of the Lifeline plan. - Organ Donation
Medical expenses incurred towards the donor for the harvesting of the organ, in accordance with the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994, will be covered. - Domiciliary Treatment
In case an insured member could not be treated in a hospital because of their ill health or due to unavailability of accommodation, the medical charges for the treatment at home would be incorporated for a treatment that is taken for a period of 3 consecutive days. - Cashless Claims

Waiting Period
- Unless treatment is required after an injury, no other treatment is covered for the first 30 days of policy inception
- Any critical illness symptoms that manifest during the initial 90 days will not be covered
- There is a 24 month waiting period for 17 specified medical conditions
- Pre-existing diseases are not admissible for a claim for 24/ 36 months, depending on the variant chosen
Free Look Period
Another advantage of the Lifeline Supreme plan is the free look period. This 15-day period starts from the date of policy purchase and is given to you to review the policy that you have purchased. During this period, you can assess the terms and conditions and if in case you feel that the policy is not as per your specifications you can return it, provided you have not made any claims.
You can make a refund request stating the cause of the return. Once the request is accepted, the refund will be initiated. The cost of medical screening, stamp duty charges and proportionate risk premium will be subtracted from the premium amount that was paid by you.
What is not Covered in Royal Sundaram Lifeline Supreme Plan?
Given below are some of the most common permanent exclusion in the Royal Sundaram Lifeline Supreme Plan:
- Conditions and disorders arising from an addiction
- Participation in adventure sports
- Treatment due to conditions resulting from age
- Expenses incurred at a hospital that are not covered such as administration, night chargers, documentation, service surcharge etc.
- Cosmetic surgery, unless required for treatment of cancer/ accident/ burn injury
- Treatment required for correction of refractive eye errors
- HIV and AIDS
- Specified hereditary conditions
- Hospitalisation that is taken for observation only
- OPD treatment, unless specified in the plan option

Online Method

Offline Method
If you do not wish to renew your policy online, you can visit a nearby Royal Sundaram branch. You can fill in the Renewal Form and pay through your credit/debit card or cheque.
Claim Process of Royal Sundaram Lifeline Supreme Plan
If you follow all the given claim-related instructions carefully, the process of health insurance Claim settlement would become easy and smooth. When your doctor advises you or an insured member of hospitalisation, you have to notify the company at the earliest about the same, 72 hours before hospitalisation in case of planned treatment and within 48 hours of admission in case of emergency hospitalisation. To notify the company you can either call customer care or send them an email. You can also register the claim online.
Cashless Claim
In case of a cashless claim, the TPA agents present at the hospital Help Desk would help you with the formalities. You would have to follow the following steps:

Intimate the company about the claim as soon as the doctor advises hospitalisation
Step 2
You can go to the nearest network hospital for your treatment or any other network hospital that you wish to go to. In order to locate a network hospital, go to the company website and see the list of network hospitals
Step 3
The TPA from the Help Desk at the Hospital would then get in touch with the company and initiate the cashless treatment
Step 4
As soon as the formalities are complete, the company would settle the hospital bill directly
Reimbursement Claim
In case you could not avail of a cashless facility, you can still request a reimbursement. You or someone on your behalf would have to notify the company about the hospitalisation when the same is advised by a doctor.

- In case your Lifeline Supreme health insurance policy has expired, you can renew it during the 30-day grace period. The renewal can be done online by visiting the company website or an insurance aggregator website. You can also visit a nearby branch, pay the premium and renew the policy. However, if the grace period is over, it is recommended that you inform customer care or visit a nearby branch at the earliest.
