Yes, your credit score might affect your car insurance premium amount. Few insurance providers consider your credit score when calculating your auto insurance premium amount, be it for a car or a two-wheeler. Generally, your insurance premium amount is higher when your credit score is low; therefore, the premium amount is inversely proportional to your credit score.
It depends on the car’s condition and shape if such an old car’s insurance policy is still valid. Older cars are provided with less amount of coverage because they are not worth very much at present. However, an insurance policy is always necessary when you own a car, be it old or new.
It is mandatory under the Motor Vehicles Act of Section 157 to get the insurance policy transferred to your name from the previous owner. This process needs to be completed within the first 14 days of purchasing the car. If the new owner fails to get the policy transferred during those 14 days, the insurance provider will not be responsible for any loss suffered by the current owner.
It depends on a lot of factors if your car insurance pays for your stolen vehicle. If you have a comprehensive insurance policy, your insurance provider might cover your stolen car. Although you do not have all the car keys with you, you might not be able to get your claim in case of a theft.
To avoid getting your insurance claim rejected, you must be careful about keeping all the car keys secure with you all the time.
Though, it is always recommended not to cancel your insurance policy as driving on Indian roads with the same is a punishable offence. However, if you want to cancel your insurance policy at any time when the policy is ongoing, you might be charged a cancellation fee. You will possibly end up owing money to your insurance provider if the policy is cancelled. The reason is cancelling the policy might lead to a penalty and an additional cancellation fee that has to be paid.
