What is not Covered Under Ford Car Insurance Policy
Drunken Driving: No car insurance company will accept your claim if you were drunk or under an intoxicant when the accident happened.
Unauthorised Driving: Your claim will be rejected if the driver is without a valid Driver’s License.
Deliberate Accident: If the accident has been caused purposely, the claim will be rejected.
Consequential Damages: Consequential damages that are caused after the accident are not covered under insurance.
Negligence: An accident occurs because of your own negligence, you won’t be able to claim the damages.
Depreciation: Damages that are caused because of normal wear and tear, mechanical or electric failure due to travelling.
Expired policy: If the policy has lapsed, your damages will not be covered.
Excluded Add-Ons: You will not be able to claim the benefits that you do not have in your plan.

1. Which type of insurance can I opt for, for my new Ford Car?
There are basically two types of insurance plans you can opt for, after buying a new Ford Car: Liability-Only or Third Party insurance and Comprehensive Car Insurance for your Ford Car.
2. What’s the main difference between 3rd party and Comprehensive insurance?
In the Liability-only or 3rd party insurance, the owner of the car is covered against any liability which may arise due to an accident or injury to the 3rd party only. And in comprehensive insurance, the owners, drivers, and the car is also covered from 3rd party liabilities and any unforeseen incident. The features of 3rd party insurance are also added in the comprehensive insurance.
3. Do I really need to buy insurance for my new Ford card?
Yes, you will have to. As per the Motor Vehicles Act, every vehicle on the road should have at least 3rd party insurance.
4. If I am driving without my driving license, and I meet with an accident: In this case, can I claim insurance?
No. As per the Motor Vehicles Act, carrying a valid driving license, along with insurance papers, registration papers, and pollution certificates is mandatory, either in hard copy or soft copy. Your insurance claim can be rejected if you are not carrying these, at the time of the accident.
5. Which documents are needed at the time of the insurance claim?
While applying for insurance claims, you should submit:
- Copy of the insurance certificate and insurance documents
- A copy of the car registration documents
- A copy of the FIR(in case of an accident)
- A copy of the driving license of the person who was driving the car at the time of the incident
- Correctly filled claim form and the original estimation of repairs
