Straight from the Japanese automobile company, the car Toyota Innova has become quite the household name in India. The Toyota Innova will be available in two engine variants - diesel and petrol. With the 2.4 litre GD diesel engine, the car produces an impressive power of 147bhp and torque of 343NM. The 2.8-litre petrol variant can produce a maximum power of 171bhp and torque of 360NM.

The car has a maximum tank capacity of 65 litres in the petrol variant and 55 litres in the diesel variant. Both of which take only 13 seconds to move from 0 kmph to 100 kmph and can go to a maximum speed of 175 kmph. As for mileage, the 2.4-litre engine can push itself to provide 15.10 km/l, while the 2.8-litre engine can move up to 14.29 km/l.

What is not Covered Under Toyota Innova Car Insurance Policy

Drunken Driving: No car insurance company will accept your claim if you were drunk or under an intoxicant when the accident happened.

Unauthorised Driving: Your claim will be rejected if the driver is without a valid Driver’s License.

Deliberate Accident: If the accident has been caused purposely, the claim will be rejected.

Consequential Damages: Consequential damages that are caused after the accident are not covered under insurance.

Negligence: An accident occurs because of your own negligence, you won’t be able to claim the damages.

Depreciation: Damages that are caused because of normal wear and tear, mechanical or electric failure due to travelling.

Expired policy: If the policy has lapsed, your damages will not be covered.

Excluded Add-Ons: You will not be able to claim the benefits that you do not have in your plan.

    A premium cost is applied concerning the registration city of the car. So it doesn't matter where you are using your car. All the premium costs will be applicable according to the city and the zones of the city where your car was registered. Even if you are shifted still the chargeables of applying premium costs will remain the same.

  • 3. For a car insurance claim, which types of files or documents are required?

    If the claim is with regards to theft of the vehicle, the keys of your car and a non-traceable certificate are required. Commonly, an RC copy of your car, payment receipt and original repair invoice will also be required. You need to present only your original repair invoice if there is a cashless facility. In many cases, an FIR is also required. Nevertheless, go through your policy to know the accurate documents that are needed to be submitted to claim a car insurance claim.

  • 4. What does an IDV mean?

    Insured Declared Value is the full form of IDV. This is the market value of your car. You will receive this value in case your insured car faces complete damage or in case your car gets stolen. 

  • 5. Are there any limitations on the number of purchases of add ons on my car insurance?

    As such there are no boundaries or limitations on the purchase of extra add ons. You can choose the additional coverages and purchase them as much as you want. However extra add ons means extra coverage and extra coverage means extra costs. So you might end up with a bit of extra premium payments depending on the add on you choose.
