A two-wheeler insurance claim is a procedure where a policyholder requests with their respective policy provider company to compensate them for the damage or losses. Before raising a claim with your insurer, it is important for you to understand the process. Bike insurance claims can be of 2 types-cashless and reimbursement. It is up to the bike insurance policyholder which claim he wants to raise.
Talking about United India two-wheeler insurance, the company has been excellent in settling claims. It has successfully resolved the claim-related issues of its policyholders quickly.
1. Claim form, duly filled and signed.
2. Copy of the policy.
3. Registration Certificate/RC.
4. Driving licence of the person driving during the accident.
5. Original repair estimate, repair invoice, and payment receipt (especially applicable for reimbursement claims).
6. Original repair invoice (especially for cashless claims).
If your bike gets involved in an accident or is damaged in any other way, you should contact your insurance company first; you can do so online. After that, you must register an FIR with the nearest police station. You must correctly complete a claim form and present insurance-related documentation. After that, your insurance provider will send a surveyor to inspect and analyze all damages. Once everything has been completed, you will receive confirmation, and your insurance company will compensate you for the losses.
1st Step: Contact United India General Insurance
First, the insured should inform the insurance company within 24 hours of the accident/mishap. You can contact United India General Insurance by calling its toll-free number or sending an email to them. You can also call the respective regional customer support number available on its official webpage.
2nd Step: Register Your Claim
A representative of the United India two-wheeler insurance contacts you after the intimation. You have to provide him/her with the policy number, detailed information about the incident, etc. The agent will provide you with a unique claim registration number, which you should keep for future reference.
3rd Step: Survey of Damages
A surveyor comes to assess the damages caused to the bike during the accident. He/she estimates the repair cost first. Then collects the claim form duly filled by the insured bike owner, proofs of the incident along with the policy documents.
4th Step: Claim Settlement
The surveyor approves your claim, after looking into all the aspects. The insurer directly pays the repairing cost of the bike to the network cashless garage. The claim amount is calculated by taking the deductibles and depreciation into consideration.
You can file a refund claim if you can't find a network garage nearby or prefer to repair the bike elsewhere. A reimbursement claim is used to compensate the policyholder for the repairs.
1st Step: Contact United India General Insurance
The policyholder must tell the insurer within 24 hours of the incidence or catastrophe. You can also phone the regional customer service number listed on the company's official website. To begin the claim settlement procedure, you can go to your nearest bank or register your claim online.
2nd Step: Register Your Claim
Following the notification, a company executive contacts you. You must give the executive the policy number and the specifics of your accident. The executive will provide you with a unique claim reference number/claim reference id.
3rd Step: Survey of the Damages Incurred
You must not take your damaged bike to the garage before the insurance company sends you a surveyor. The surveyor calculates the repair costs and gathers the appropriate paperwork, including a duly filled claim form, witness contact information, and photos of the occurrence as verification.
4th Step: Repair and Reimbursement
After the approval from your surveyor, you can move your bike to your preferred garage and get it repaired at your own cost. After the repair, the bills, receipts, and policy documents must be submitted to the insurer. The company investigates the situation and pays the claim, taking all deductibles and depreciation into account.
The United India General Insurance offers a no-claim bonus to their policyholders for every claim-free year. It's a cumulative prize, which gets higher with every consecutive claim-free tenure. In the fifth straight year, the NCB reached its maximum of 50 percent. The insurance holder should disable the accumulated NCB when a claim is filed.
The NCB will be transferred if the insurance holder switches to a different insurance carrier or sells their bike to get a brand new one and has it renewed on time.
If the policyholder fails to renew the two-wheeler insurance policy on time, they risk losing their accumulated NCB. So, United India gives its customers an extra 90 days as a grace period. But any delay after the grace period can cancel the policy, and the NCB that has been accumulated will also be canceled.
You can contact United India General Insurance by calling its toll-free helpline number at 1800-425-333-33 or sending an e-mail to customercare@uiic.co.in.
