Generally, you can avail anyone among the two types of insurance below -
No, the third-party insurance plans do not cover any damages or losses incurred for your own bike. You can avail yourself of a financial cover for theft only when you choose a comprehensive insurance plan for your bike.
Choosing a comprehensive plan will help you to customize your bike’s IDV. Though you won’t get this benefit when you choose a third-party insurance plan.
ARAI refers to the Automotive Research Association of India. ARAI rewards insurers with discounts if they install ARAI certified anti-theft devices in their two-wheelers. You can avail of certain discounts of close to 2.5% on your Own Damage premiums subject to a maximum amount.
The Long term two wheeler insurance policy was introduced recently by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). This insurance plan gives you the liberty to not renew your insurance plans at regular intervals. Instead, you can opt for a long term insurance policy that covers your bike for 3 years and above. Also with Long term insurance plans, you can get away from the yearly revisions of the third-party rates that will ultimately yield you a lot of savings.
