Bajaj CT 100 Insurance FAQs
1. I had recently purchased a Bajaj CT 100, which I now suspect to be stolen, what are the immediate steps that I need to take if I have insurance for the same?
In an instance where your vehicle gets stolen, the first thing that you should do instantly is to lodge an FIR with your nearest police station or head for the local police station, in case you are travelling. Now, all you need to do is submit the FIR photocopy and supporting documents to your insurance company.
In such a case,
- You are entitled to claim full IDV amount.
- Moreover, if you lose your bike to natural calamities and human-made disasters, it can be claimed as well.
2. I recently had a crash with my CT 100 and had an accident with the bike. While I was safe in the crash, my pillion rider was severely injured. My question is that can I sue the bike insurance company for the claim of the pillion rider?
Sadly, your basic bike insurance doesn’t cover the pillion rider in case of such an accident. An additional add-on cover, i.e. pillion rider/passenger cover would cover the cost of such an accident. So, make sure you have purchased the same add-on cover along with your base policy.
3. What are the consequences if I don’t update my insurance policy?
Listed below are the cases that might occur in such situations:
- It is illegal to ride on Indian roads without a valid insurance policy.
- It is a punishable offence and you have to pay a hefty fine for the same.
- If you fail to insure your vehicle within 90 days, you will lose your No Claim Bonus.
- If not done within the date, your bike will have to go through another inspection that might be chargeable.
