Vehicle Registration Types

Ownership Transfer

  • General case- The transferor is required to report on ownership transfer in Jayanagar RTO by providing a place of business or residence whichever applies to the case.
  • Death case- The successor has to obtain a new RC within three months after the death of the legal owner.
  • Auction case- A vehicle bought in a public auction is required to get registered under the name of the buyer within 30 days of possession. Authorization from the person conducting the auction is mandatory.

Registration Renewal

Form 25 is applicable in cases where the vehicle owner is looking for renewal of registration. He must file the application within 60 days of the expiry of the original RC. The docs applicable for renewal are- Vehicle itself, RC book, and PUC.

Duplicate Registration Certificate

A police FIR copy and PUC are required to obtain a duplicate RC. Fees as per Rule 81 of Central MV rules are applicable.
