Having an insurance cover for your motorised vehicle is mandatory under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. While most vehicle owners prefer opting for a comprehensive cover, the insurance premium in such a policy is a little higher. There are certain factors such as the vehicle’s age, make, variant etc that can affect the premium.
One of the key factors influencing the insurance premium is your location or the RTO that you come under. Certain cities are risk-prone as compared to accidents. This could be because of high vehicle density, vehicle thefts, the density of population and also the geographical condition of that area. For example, if you move from Dahod to Ahmedabad, you may have to pay a little more on your insurance premium.
