Under Gwalior RTO, one can apply for ownership transfer under three scenarios. First, if one buys a vehicle at a public auction that was conducted on behalf of the State or Central Government, they must register the car within 30 days of taking possession.
Second, in case of death, the car owner’s successor can use the vehicle after informing the authorities for 90 days as if the asset has already been transferred to them. However, the successor must get the vehicle registered to their name within these three months. Third, in the event of a normal transfer, the transferor/ original owner must report the change in ownership to the Gwalior RTO in which both the transferor and transferee stay and conduct business.
