The primary purpose of the Jabalpur Transport Department is to ensure that the laws and regulations of the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 are obeyed. Under Jabalpur RTO, one can apply for ownership transfer under 3 situations. 

  • In case of normal transfer, the transferor must report the change in ownership to the Jabalpur RTO in which both the transferee and transferor reside or have business.
  • In case of death, the owner’s successor can use the vehicle for 90 days as if the vehicle is already transferred to them after letting the authorities know. However, the successor must get the vehicle registered to their name within these 90 days.
  • If you purchase a vehicle at a public auction conducted on the State or Central Government’s behalf, you must register the car under your name within one month of taking possession.

Renewal of Registration in Jabalpur RTO

Jabalpur RTO is where you must apply to get your Certificate of Registration renewed. The application must be submitted at least 2 months before the expiration date.
