Functions of Nashik Road Transport Office

How does RTO Impact Vehicle Insurance Premium in Nashik?

How to get Vehicle Registration in Nashik?

According to the 1988 Motor Vehicles Act, if you buy a new car or transfer a car, you must register the car at the appropriate Nashik RTO.

Vehicle Registration Type in Nashik RTO

The 2 main types of vehicle registration available in Nashik RTO are:

  • Temporary- Temporary registration is issued for a limited period, the application can be made under Form 20 of the 1989 Central Motor Vehicle Rules. The temporary registration period ranges from 7 days to 30 days.
  • Permanent- Within seven days of receiving your automobile, you must complete the permanent registration application process by applying the same Form 20.

Ownership Transfer in Nashik RTO

Under Nashik RTO, there are three scenarios in which one might seek for a transfer of ownership.

  • General Case Scenario: The transferor must declare the change in ownership to the Nashik RTO in which both the transferor and the transferee reside or have a place of business in the case of a routine transfer.
  • Death Case Scenario: In the event of death, the possession's successor has 90 days to use the car as if the asset had already been transferred to them after notifying the authorities. The legal heir, on the other hand, has three months to get the vehicle registered in their name.
  • Public Auction Scenario: If you purchase a vehicle at a public auction held on behalf of the state or federal government, you must register the vehicle in your name within 30 days after receiving it.

Registration Renewal in Nashik RTO

The application for renewing your Certificate of Registration at the Nashik RTO must be made in Form 25. The application must be submitted two months before the expiration date. According to the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989, the prescribed amount for registration renewal must be submitted to the Registration Authority at the Nashik RTO. For the renewal, you need have the following requirements:

  • Vehicle
  • R.C. Book
  • Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUC)

Duplicate R.C. in Nashik RTO

In case your RC is stolen or lost, you need to obtain a duplicate RC. For issuance of a duplicate Certificate of Registration at Nashik RTO, the application must be submitted on Form 26 to the RTO. The amount will be paid to the Registration Authority at the Nashik RTO in accordance with Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. The following requirements should be met:
