Blessed with a good transport network, Cuttack is a city that has an active Regional transport Organisation that fulfills its mandate efficiently under law. The Cuttack RTO Office works in accordance with Section 213 of the Motor Vehicles Act and ensures that issues, renews, issues in duplicate and cancels driving licences and permits, registers vehicles in accordance with the law, and maintains road safety standards. Functions of Cuttack Regional Transport Department

The Cuttack RTO Office has to fulfill the following functions and duties – 

  • Registration of Motor Vehicle:

The Cuttack RTO Office has the mandate under the law to register a motor vehicle, provide an endorsement, transfer ownership of Registration Certificate, approve the alteration of a vehicle etc. This is an important mandate that can be fulfilled solely by the RTO of the state.

  • Driving Licence:

The learner’s licence, driving licence, international driving licence permit etc. comes under the ambit of the RTO Office Cuttack and the RTO has the power to issue, renew and cancel these licences. The presence of these licences is what allows the driver to drive the motor vehicle around on the road. It is also important to have these to get allied documents of the vehicle such as the insurance documents, fitness certificate for the car, etc. 

  • Conductor Licence:

A conductor’s licence is one which is issued by a competent authority under Chapter III of the Motor Vehicles Act authorising an individual to behave as a conductor. The Cuttack RTO is in charge of issuing and renewing the conductor’s licence.

  • Fitness Certificate/ NOC:

The fitness certificate issuance, provision for temporary fitness certificate, revocation of the CFX etc. is all done by the Cuttack RTO office. Having these documents will allow the owner of the vehicle to seamlessly transfer ownership of the vehicle to a person within or outside the state.

  • Online Permits Application and Objection System for Vehicles:

How the RTO Impacts Your Vehicle Insurance Premium in Cuttack?
