The Transport Department of Chhattisgarh was established under section 213 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, the function of CG RTO is to regulate vehicle acts and provisions in the state of Chhattisgarh. The duty of licence issuing, setting up of databases etc. is under the Chhattisgarh RTO office (Regional Transport Office). Once the vehicle is registered through this office then only a registration certificate is issued.
Every year the number of vehicle registrations passes the preceding year. This is almost the case of every other Indian state. CG RTO makes sure that rules are being followed properly as well as all the vehicles are registered.

The deciding factor of the premium that you pay for your car insurance is the Chhattisgarh RTO. Temporary Registration
Whenever a new vehicle is bought, the dealer has to register it for a limited period of time, till the permanent number arrives from the Chhattisgarh RTO.
Permanent Registration
This number is appointed by the CG RTO as it is a bounded function of the department. For this process to start you need to fill a form after which the registration number is allotted.
Ownership Transfer
It is the process in which the name of the previous owner is replaced by the new owner by filling Form 30. If you go for a financed vehicle then you need to submit a NOC with Form 35 before the name transferring process takes place.
Duplicate Registration
If the certificate of registration is lost then an application should be presented to the Motor Vehicle Inspector or the Regional Transport Officer of Chhattisgarh along with the FIR of the nearest police station.
