How does RTO Impact your Vehicle Insurance Premium in Pune?

The location where you registered your vehicle has an impact on the premium you pay. If you belong to a Tier 1 city, insurance premiums would be higher, as compared to those with Tier 2 or 3 cities. This is because insurance carriers classify into ‘Insurance zones’ across the country based on the risks associated with the vehicle in that location. Due to the increased risk of theft, accidents, and vandalism, vehicles registered in certain areas might be insured with higher premiums as the risk involved is high.

How to Get Vehicle Registration in Pune?

If you buy a new car or transfer a vehicle from another state, you must register it at the proper Pune RTO office. Let us look at the types of vehicle registration types.

Temporary registration is available for a limited period of time and can be applied for using Form 20 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. One can also ask for a temporary registration extension, describing the period for which the extension is needed. Within 7days of receiving your automobile, you must complete the permanent registration application process. The procedure can be completed on the same Form 20.

Ownership Transfer in Pune RTO

Three options exist under the Pune RTO for applying for ownership transfer. In the normal transfer case, the transferor must declare the change in ownership to the Pune RTO, where both the transferor and the transferee reside.

In case of the owner's death, after notifying the authorities and informing the possession's successor, the car can be used for three months as if the asset had already been transferred to them.

If the vehicle is purchased at an auction held on behalf of the state or federal government, you must register the vehicle within 30 days of receiving it.
