Let’s check about these covers individually.

Oriental - 4 Important Add-on Covers for Your Car Insurance Policy

  • Zero Depreciation Cover

You are obligated to pay for the depreciation of your vehicle and its components. As a result, when you file a claim, the insurance company subtracts this depreciation expense from the claim amount. However, choosing the Oriental zero depreciation cover will exempt you from paying the depreciation for your vehicle and all its plastic and metal parts, except tires, tubes and batteries, which are covered at fifty percent. It is an excellent add-on that exempts you from high depreciation costs, for a small fee.

Regardless of anything in the policy to the contrary, and provided extra premium has been paid, it has hereby concurred that in the event of a partial loss claim for damages to the car where liability is acknowledged, the insurance company will indemnify the insured for the full value of additional costs for restoration parts of the insured vehicle without factoring in depreciation.

  • Loss of Personal Belongings

If you choose this option, the insurer will reimburse you for the cost of personal possessions stolen from your car. Except for money, credit cards, laptops and mobile phones, all personal possessions are covered under this policy. The premium is INR 400 and INR 650 in exchange for coverage of INR 5,000 and INR 10,000, respectively.

  • Alternative Car Benefit

If your car is involved in a crash or is stolen, the insurance company will provide you with a replacement car for 5, 10, or 15 days at a limit of INR 400 or INR  650 per day, as chosen by you. This add-on provision applies if your car is damaged by more than twenty percent in a mishap or gets stolen.

  • Emergency Service Free Benefit

Suppose you insure your car through Oriental General Insurance offices in Delhi and NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Mumbai, Kolkata and all Southern States. In that case, the insurance company will provide free emergency services for breakdowns.
