Functions of the Indore RTO

  • Driving Licence: As per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the Indore RTO issues a learner's permit, permanent licence, renewing the licence, duplicate licence, addition of the licence, and issuing the international driving licence. 
  • Registration of the vehicle: Indore RTO also does the registration of the vehicles by providing them with a Trade certificate temporary or permanent registration of the vehicle. 
  • Conductor Licence: Passenger or goods carriages receive their licence through the conductor licence. 
  • Non-Objection Certificate (NOC): Certificate of registration, insurance, pollution under control document, and the payment of the Motor Vehicle Tax requires NOC also the fitness certificate of the vehicle that is also issued by Indore RTO.
  • Online Permits Application and Objective System for Vehicles: Different kinds of vehicles require permits such as temporary, pucca, renewal, duplicate, transfer, vehicle replacement certificate, CNG, and LPG permit are also issued by RTOs. How to Get Vehicle Registration in Indore?

All the transportation departments are interlinked under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Therefore, it is easy to transfer the registration of your vehicle from one state to another. 

Vehicle Registration Types in Indore RTO

There are two types of registration that you can get at the Indore RTO as follows:

  • Temporary: Temporary registration of the vehicles is valid only till the limited period. After the validity of the licence expires, you can file an extension for it. 
  • Permanent: To get the permanent registration for your vehicle, you also need to fill in and submit form 20 at Indore RTO. 

Ownership Transfer in Indore RTO

Ownership of the vehicle needs to be transferred in Indore RTO on three occasions, as mentioned below. 

  • When the vehicle owner passes away, ownership of the vehicle needs to be transferred to the successor's name within three months of the death. 
  • In the case of the simple transfer, both the transferor and the transferee must reside in the jurisdiction of the Indore RTO to transfer the ownership of the vehicle. 
  • If the vehicle is purchased from the state or the central governments' auction, then the registration must be completed within 30 days of taking possession of the vehicle. 

Renewal of Registration in Indore RTO

As per the rules of the Motor Vehicles Act, you need to register your vehicle at the RTO at your nearest RTO office. You need to fill and submit form number 25. After the expiry of the registration of the existing registration certification, the renewal procedure must be initiated within 60 days. You will need the following:

  • Functioning vehicle
  • RC Book
  • PUC certificate

Duplicate RC in Indore RTO

To get the duplicate Registration Certificate (RC), you need to fill and submit form 26 at the Indore RTO along with the police certificate and the Pollution Under Control certificate. It is mandatory under rule 81 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1989.
